A little bit of Nabari

On Sunday, Mike and I went walking in the evening around Nabari. We walked for ages, lost our way, but basically sort of understood a little more of where everything was situated.

We walked up a little hill, found a nice spot overlooking our little city.

Know how in Mandarin, the setting of the sun is described as 'xia shan' (literally down the hill)? Well, in Nabari, I always see a true Chinese sunset. The sun sinking behind the mountains lining our city.

We walked for a bit more, then found what we had been looking for. Fourier!! A used goods store! I like!

I like the blue pair on the bottom shelf!! It's in my size too!

Nice blue vintage Volkswagen van radio I wanted to buy for Jia, but it's SOOOOOO ex!!

At the recent Mie Orientation, I found out that we're cool! Hahaha. We have the Suzuka racing circuit up north, huge fireworks festivals in Kumano down south, and are home to one of the most important ninja clans in Japan!! There's even a ninja day or week every April in Iga city where we get to dress up as ninjas. Apparently, an Iga ninja was instrumental in protecting the shogun who unified Japan a long time ago. Without the Iga ninja, Japan wouldn't be what it is today! Also, Ueno City in Mie is where people come to view the cherry blossoms - a custom called Hanami - every April/May.

Mie's the BEST prefecture ever!!!

Will explore more then update soon. :)
